About me

Hi, I’m Beatriz Pachón Castrillo, an architect, ceramicist and illustrator from Spain.

I started drawing when I was two years old and I never stopped doing it. As I loved drawing I studied Architecture and graduated at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in Madrid. Some years later, I, together with some friends, won an important Architecture competition in Taiwan. It was a huge adventure and we built there an enormous project. That led us to some other competitions, travels and prizes.

Traveling through Taiwan and Japan made the love for ceramics grew on me. So when I came back to Spain I started studying ceramics at the Escuela de Cerámica de la Moncloa in Madrid. I spent six years there, surrounded by wonderful people and learning a lot.

My ceramics are mostly done in porcelain or stoneware. Nature is the main place where I get my inspiration from. The love for animals and the environment are always present in my pieces. I want to make a positive impact on the world with my work.

Currently I live close to the mountains with a curly haired jazz guitar player an our little baby girl. Beside drawing and making ceramics I love going for long walks in the forest, being in my vegetable garden, cooking and trying out new recipes for friends and family.

Sobre mí

Hola, soy Beatriz Pachón Castrillo, una arquitecta, ceramista e ilustradora española.

Empecé a dibujar cuando tenía dos años y nunca dejé de hacerlo. Como me encantaba el dibujo estudié Arquitectura y me licencié en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid. Unos años más tarde, junto con algunos amigos, gané un importante concurso de Arquitectura en Taiwán. Fue una gran aventura y allí construimos un proyecto enorme. Eso nos llevó a otros concursos, viajes y premios.

Viajar por Taiwán y Japón hizo que el amor por la cerámica creciera en mí. Así que cuando volví a España comencé a estudiar cerámica en la Escuela de Cerámica de la Moncloa de Madrid. Pasé seis años allí, rodeado de gente maravillosa y aprendiendo mucho.

Mi cerámica se realiza principalmente en porcelana o gres. La naturaleza es mi mayor inspiración. El amor por los animales y el medio ambiente está siempre presente en mis piezas. Intento siempre tener un impacto positivo en el mundo con mi trabajo.

Actualmente vivo cerca de las montañas con un guitarrista de jazz de pelo rizado y nuestra pequeña niña. Además de dibujar y hacer cerámica, me encanta dar largos paseos por el bosque, estar en mi huerto, cocinar y probar nuevas recetas para amigos y familiares.
