To test glazes on a new clay is always a challenge but the fun kind. This one is a black stoneware, with a high content in iron and manganese, so any new glaze will react strongly with it. To start testing I make small flat strips and later I try the recipes I liked most on these small cups, to see how it runs. The thing is I have already tested this clay, but now I am testing a new kiln, so I am skipping the flat pieces and testing on the small cups.
